Hi, I’m Kyla, the creator of Page vs Screen Reviews.
I’ve always loved getting lost in a great story. Whether it’s staying up too late to finish a book, falling in love with fictional characters, or binge-watching an adaptation over the weekend, stories have always been one of my favorite escapes.
And if I’m being honest, the only thing better than a good story is watching it come to life.
That’s what inspired me to create Page vs Screen Reviews.
This site is dedicated to exploring book-to-screen adaptations through thoughtful comparisons, honest reviews, and recommendations for readers and viewers alike. Here, you’ll find articles that answer questions like:
- Is the movie or show faithful to the book?
- What changed between the page and the screen?
- Was the book actually better?
- Should you read the book before watching?
While many adaptation reviews focus on what went wrong, I take a different approach. I believe adapting a book is incredibly difficult, and I enjoy exploring both what works and what changes when a story moves from one medium to another.
My personal “holy trinity” of genres is:
💕 Romance & Romantic Comedies
🔪 Thrillers
✨ Fantasy
You’ll also find the Adaptation Index, a growing resource tracking upcoming movies and television shows based on books, so you can keep up with the latest adaptations before they hit the screen.
At the end of the day, I’m simply a reader who loves discussing stories and seeing how they evolve from page to screen.
So whether you’re trying to decide if you should read the book first, understand why an adaptation made certain changes, or discover your next obsession, I’m glad you’re here.
Happy reading—and happy watching 😊
— Kyla
